How To Stop Basing Your Values In Other’s Opinions

How To Stop Basing Your Values In Other’s Opinions Peer and societal pressures are real... Now, I’m not referencing experiences such as your grandma trying to pawn off some of her chocolate chip cookies to you, I’m referencing ways you alter your personality, mediums of expression and overall beliefs of the world around you to please those in your inner circle. We are all unique individuals. Why should we be forced to morph with the pack to feel more stable when we are all destined to push the boundaries and take risks? I can’t say I have always strayed away from following others. In high school, I found I was constantly altering the words that came out of my mouth or the way I dressed because I was afraid that others would think. This then transformed to me loosing sight of who ...

How To Make A Long Distance Relationship Work For You

How to Make A Long Distance Relationship Work For You Okay... I get it. The phrase “long-distance” is one that holds many negative stereotypes when it comes to relationships. It's scary, I know. Time away from your significant other can be really challenging. However, it’s not all infrequent phone calls and tissue boxes. When you are forced to spend time away from your partner, you are granted a period to really reflect upon the value that your relationship adds to your life. While you are away from one another, you have ample time to talk and continue to learn more about one another than you would have when relaxing and watching Netflix. You are even granted more time to fully involve yourself in your interests and passions. Even though this all may sound great, it only is if yo...

Why Pivoting Your Life’s Goals Is So Important

Why Pivoting Your Life’s Goals Is So Important As a second year student in college, I have lived my life according to my penciled-in-plan in my planner. How My Passion Has Shaped Me Into Who I Am

Let's Talk About Singing... Welcome to 2021 everyone!!! Ah we made it! To start the new year, I wanted to talk about something that makes me shine. Singing has been a big part of my life ever since I was little. It has allowed me to convey my creativity to the world. I discovered this passion of mine in the middle of my fourth grade musical, a child-friendly rendition of Mamma Mia while I was belting my little lungs out, riding on a wave of pure bliss. Prior to this experience, I was more on the quiet spectrum, getting embarrassed if my sister heard me singing “Eye of the Tiger” in the shower. I always felt truly alive while singing from the first audience of thirty or so parents forced into coming to a play to my largest crowd of two thousand music fans eagerly watching me per...
