Andy Christensen is my incredibly hard working boyfriend. Whether he’s completing his school work to maintain his straight A streak, researching the best stocks to invest in, trying to surpass his last fitness pr, working full time at his new job in Del Mar, calling me to check in throughout the day, starting a new art project, or did I mention learning a new song on guitar? I don’t think there’s anything that Andy can’t do.
I have been so fortunate to have such an amazing partner in my life for a little over a year now. I have watched him push himself time and time again in each facet in his life. When I asked where he finds his motivation from, he responded with his want to live life to its fullest potential. That is why he sets short term and long term goals for himself. This way he can be on track to accomplishing his dreams while making time to try new things along the way.
I really admire that Andy isn’t afraid of trying anything new AND that he makes time for it. This quality is contagious. In the time span that I have known him, I can definitely say that I have become a more open minded and adventurous person and I love it!
When I asked him how he stays empowered, he responded by telling me about his workout routine. For him, lifting weights not only enables him to release pent up stress, but he finds he feels more in control, powerful, and productive after. Additionally, since he started working out, his overall confidence levels have soared.
Let me tell you, this man is never afraid to admit to me that he looks good in a new shirt. I think having the ability to say that is so incredible and that we should all be able to tell one another from time to time that “we look good and we know it!” Andy also plays the guitar which helps him maintain a strong balance between the energy he harnessed from his workouts and a peaceful state of mind. While playing the guitar, this gives him time to rewind and express his creative side.
One thing we can all learn from Andy is to find and extract happiness out of every activity we do. Life is too short to partake in affairs that don’t bring us happiness.
Right now he plans on getting a bachelor’s degree in something he truly enjoys while making valuable relationships with others along the way. He hopes not only to grow his circle, but inspire others to be kinder to one another and themselves.
Additionally, having the ability to be open minded is one of the best things we can do for ourselves. Andy jumps at the opportunity to challenge himself with something he has never done before. The world is bursting with endless opportunities and we must let ourselves be open to them. Who knows what will happen?
Andy is truly one of those people that you meet once in a lifetime. Just having him in my life has had such a positive impact on me. Everyday he motivates me to be the best individual that I can be.
I encourage all of you to find a significant other or someone that makes you feel like you can do anything. The people you surround yourself with matters! Why not fill your time with people who truly move you and make you want to push yourself? Per my previous article, find your Jeannie that constantly supports you and find your Andy that inspires you to be better. While you are searching, I will continue to write about the people in my life who make me feel empowered to show that they are out there. It just takes time to find them!
